SARAH NÍ CHATHÁIN

Sarah Ní Chatháin became aware of a love for music at a very young age. Her late grandmother, Katie Keane, was a singer and accordion player, who inspired Sarah to learn the accordion. Following this she took up the guitar and singing.

Sarah was born in Crossmolina, Co. Mayo and later moved to Inis Mor on the Aran Islands, where she played guitar and sang in church. She moved to study in Templemore, Co. Tipperary, and started to sing with one-man bands around the town. As a result of this she was invited to perform on Tipp FM Radio.

After a lot of encouragement, mainly from members of An Garda Siochana, she decided to record a few of her own favourite songs in 2011. Here she sings 'There Were Roses', with accompaniment by Stephen Dwane (guitar, drums and bass).
