David Dwane has been involved in the music industry for many years.
He is a long-standing supporter of the live music industry and writes a regular and popular entertainment blog, bringing news about fresh new talent, the latest recordings and general entertainment news.

He organised and sponsored a series of annual band showcase events in the 2000s to provide emerging talent with an opportunity to be heard in an organised and public setting.
He also ran an annual national competition for singers and bands that took place in Ballina and attracted entries from all over Ireland.
As a keyboard player, he has played on the local pub and hotel circuit with various bands, and on his own, including a stint as piano player in the popular Frogs Piano Bar, Ballina in the 1980/1990s

For 35 years until 2019, he was the weekly entertainment news writer with the Western People newspaper, one of the largest regional newspapers in Ireland, and presented rock music and classical music programmes on Mid West Radio in the late 1980s/early 1990s.
