Here’s another new announcement from the organisers of the All Together Now music festival in Co. Waterford over the August Holiday, adding to names such as The National, Patti Smith and dozens more acts who’ve already been confirmed in recent weeks:
We’ve announced a series line up of amazing music, a stellar panel of comedy maestros, our mouthwatering array of food and feasts, the fun and games in our Kids Together area, the fire-breathing, eye-popping glory of Arcadia featuring the duelling Lords of Lightning, our sustainability initiatives, and the lush, zen-filled beauty of our Lawns of Tranquility.
We’re now thrilled to let you know about our brand new area.
We bring you the Global Roots Area, designed by the multi-talented master craftsman Christy Collard and created especially for All Together Now. Nestled in the forest of the lush Curraghmore Estate, the bespoke Global Roots Stage is a hand-crafted Greenbuild structure, made from natural materials that will stand tucked within the trees.
Bringing this stage to life, the music line-up will be jam-packed with live acts leading into late night DJ sets covering all sorts of genres such as Reggae, Funk, Latin, African, Celtic, Jazz, Soul, Ska, Arabic, Indian. Think groovy, funky beats that will keep you dancing late into the night!
This hidden gem will also be dotted with Immersive Spa (book here), Chill Zone, Dance & Drumming classes with a host of workshops, and playful hideaway huts.
“Imagine entering an exotic land, a leafy jungle, and discovering a place that invites you to enjoy the vibrant colours, the magically lit trees, and art installations. The aesthetics will be beautiful, a celebration of diversity and togetherness”. – Christy Collard
Christy primarily designs and builds artisan eco-structures and designs and landscapes natural gardens. He is most known for creating the green-built main stages with over a dozen of his unique creations being an integral part of the festival experience and lending to the earthy style for which Christy is famed for.
Christy’s sunny disposition and beautiful installations earned him a mention in The Irish Times Magazine article entitled “The Happy Crew: 30 People Making Life Better”. Whether you’ve seen him drumming on TG4’s Wild Atlantic Way, or had the pleasure of meeting him in person, one thing is certain: Christy can brighten any space.
Having grown up in the remote mountains of beautiful West Cork, Christy has a deep love of nature. His parents chose to raise the family with a simple, sustainable lifestyle, and the Collards continue to be strong advocates for the environment. Working at his family’s iconic tree nursery, Future Forests, gave Christy the experience to hone his skills at gardening, woodland management, landscaping, and carpentry. He is involved in ongoing renovations of the family’s business as it continues to evolve. In 2002 Christy Collard & the team at Future Forests built a garden which won a gold medal at the Chelsea Flower Show for Irish garden designer Mary Reynolds and a feature film, Dare to be Wild, documents that amazing journey.
