Rehearsals for a new Irish-produced show celebrating the life and music of country music legend Glen Campbell are underway.
According to Shannonside Radio presenter and entertainment promoter Joe Finnegan of J and C Promotions, this new show will be like no other, and is written and directed by ex-RTE producer Cathal McCabe.
J and C Promotions are also behind the much acclaimed Carpenters Story, starring Kim Dickinson, and such well known country acts as The Three Amigos.
‘Gentle on My Mind, The Glen Campbell Story’, will star master guitarist and country music personality, Ciarán Rosney and his five-piece band, along with such well-known musicians as Billy Burgoyne (ex-Daniel O’Donnell) and fiddle-playing maestro Denise Boyle.
A former lecturer and music and music technology scholar, Offaly’s Ciarán Rosney embarked on a full-time country music career in 2012. His classical guitar training has helped him to become the envy of many music musicians…..he is a winner of the Bach Guitar prize in the Dublin Feís Ceoil.
‘Gentle on My Mind, The Glen Campbell Story’ will take you on a truly amazing journey with some of Glen Campbell’s best-known hits like ‘Rhinestone Cowboy’ and ‘Wichita Lineman’. The American singer died two years ago.
Unique to this show will be Ciaran’s unrivalled interpretation of Glen’s superb guitar-playing abilities.
