With more than a nod to the classic Schonberg and Kretzmer stage and film musical Les Misérables, this weekend’s production by the gifted Heroes for Hospice is set to repeat the excitement around the group’s spectacular 2014 show in Ballina, Beyond the Barricade.
That production from a decade ago went on the play in Castlebar, London and Manchester, attracting huge audiences and helping to raise funds for Mayo Roscommon Hospice in the process.
One Day More is the new show from the Ballina-based Heroes for Hospice charity musical theatre group, and is a celebration of human resilience told through an enthralling story of broken dreams, unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption.
It is directed by the accomplished local singing teacher Lavinia Slater, with a spectacular score featuring some of the best-loved classics of musical theatre.
Proceeds are in aid of Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation and Mayo Cancer Support.
One Day More plays in Ballina Arts Centre on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 5 to 8. All shows start at 8pm, with the exception of Sunday, when there will be a matinee performance at 5pm.
