Sinead O’Connor, Rufus Wainwright, Van Morrison, The Coronas, Elvis Costello and Matt Molloy have all performed at Sligo Live over the years.
Now it’s the turn of new and emerging artists to have their chance, with the opportunity to perform at this year’s event in October.
Sligo Live is a community-centred festival created by musicians and music lovers to showcase the very best of talent – internationally established and emerging. It has become the biggest music festival of its kind in the North West.
Since its foundation by Shane Mitchell and Rory O’Connor in 2005, the festival has delighted audiences with a diverse array of both international and local talent, bringing together the very best folk, roots, indie and traditional musicians, as well as comedy.
The festival is a partnership of Sligo County Council, Atlantic Technological University, musicians and music lovers, working together to celebrate and promote the county’s tremendous artistic heritage and vibrant contemporary culture.
