A three-day Summer Camp at The Core, Ballina promises an enriching experience for aspiring songwriters and musicians of all skill levels.
‘Breaking Creative Blocks Through Songwriting’ will be a summer camp like no other. Whether the participant is a beginner or a seasoned musician, the camp offers a supportive environment to nurture the creative talents.
The Core is a resource for young musicians and schools in the Mayo community. It is run under the auspices of Music Generation Mayo and housed within Ballina Arts Centre.
At The Core, young people aged between 12 and 18 can engage in instrumental tuition, workshops, camps and regular performance opportunities such as open mics and showcases.
This forthcoming Summer Camp offers a unique opportunity to explore the art of songwriting and overcome creative obstacles.
Under the guidance of experienced music mentors and professionals, participants will explore various aspects of songwriting. From finding inspiration to crafting melodies and writing lyrics, the camp will cover the essential elements of the songwriting process. Through engaging workshops, collaborative activities and personalised guidance, attendees will learn techniques to overcome creative blocks and develop their unique musical voice.
The Summer Camp runs in Ballina Arts Centre on Tuesday 20th, Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd June, from 10a.m. to 1.30p.m.
To ensure accessibility, the camp offers flexible pricing options. For those looking to attend a single day, the cost is €20, while the full three-day package is available at a discounted rate of €50.
