Motley instrumentation, great melodies and an enticing voice are the hallmarks of Mayo singer and songwriter Joe Monaghan.
A native of Balla, Joe operates under the label Train Room and is building up tension towards the release of his debut album this coming summer.
The album’s title track 33 will be available to buy in April. A delightfully bouncy song, 33 is Train Room’s most impressive single to date…and there have been a few!
Train Room has amassed considerable airplay on national and regional radio stations such as RTE Radio One, Red FM and 2XM.
Recorded in Blackgate Studios, Galway in between Lockdowns last year, the new album will have nine tracks, including the much-lauded Hurricane of Love and the Irish Times ‘Song of the Week’ Grace.
Train Room’s first single Horizons was chosen for the soundtrack of a video to promote wild Mayo in a 2017 international campaign by Mayo.ie involving some of the county’s Gaelic football players. It amassed two million views online. Watch the video here:
