IMDb says that ‘Slaney Power is an actress and composer’, but currently she may be better known here as a singer songwriter.
The multi-talented actor and singer from Carlow – once home to another well-known young Irish actress of international repute – has joined forces with the songwriter and producer Michael Hopkins to release the single Shy Away.
You will see the other side of Slaney Power’s artistic talents when RTE and BBC both start showing the romantic drama Normal People next week.
Slaney is cast as Sophie in the TV adaptation of Sally Rooney’s best selling novel.
It comes as no surprise that Slaney would shine musically too, being the daughter of Irish drumming extraordinaire Niall Power, who has had a very fruitful career drumming for Bob Geldof, Westlife and many more.
As Slaney, this new duo have jumped head first into tropical water with their feel good, summery, electro-pop sound.
