Formed in 2017, Tuesday at Six are a four-piece rock band from Gorey,
Co. Wexford who are really making waves in the Irish music scene right now, and will release the single Genie in the Bottle next week.
The band’s line-up consists of lead guitarist Eoin Harris, bassist John Redmond, drummer Luke Kavanagh and frontman Cian Fitzpatrick. The self-produced quartet released their debut single, Sweet Jane in 2018, and subsequently built on that success by releasing their self-titled EP the following July.
The band found themselves to be an instant hit with new and old audiences alike, giving themselves a generous platform on which to promote their new music, which includes songs such as Passion Bubblegum, a complex yet pointed exploration in to the growth and maturing of Tuesday at Six’s sound. After releasing their EP, the band went on to give a stimulating and electric performance at the Gorey Market House Festival, followed by a sold-out show at the Dublin music scene Mecca known as Whelan’s.
The upcoming release, Genie in the Bottle, which was written in early 2019, took the musical talents only two nights of work to assemble and complete.
“While the song touches on the tender topic of unrequited love, I always wanted it to have a hop and a groove in it. It’s not necessarily a sad song. The lyrics are as deep as you want them to be; they can mean anything to anyone”, said Eoin.
Expect Genie in the Bottle to make Tuesday At Six firm favourites for some of the country’s many music festivals this year.
