Seán McComish is a young musician and songwriter, hailing from Fethard-On-Sea, Co. Wexford.
He has just released his new single Only One, following a hectic few years of live gigging at home and abroad.
Surrounded by music and a musical family his entire life, it wasn’t long before Seán picked up the guitar. Upon hearing the album Music And Me by Michael Jackson, he knew from an early age what he wanted to do with his life… to play music and write songs.
Citing influences from Bruno Mars to Elvis, 2015 marked the start for Seán as a solo artist. Jumping right in at the deep end, his first two gigs were played in the prestigious Dublin venues of Whelan’s and The Ruby Sessions.
Sean released his debut E.P. The First Step in August 2015 to much critical acclaim, which allowed him the opportunity to support acts such as Calum Scott, Nathan Carter and Hometown. This was soon followed by shows alongside the likes of Gavin James, The Academic and The Strypes, and also features on websites such as JOE.ie and HER.ie.
He ended 2016 by being involved in the recording of a charity single in aid of Pieta House alongside artists such as Mary Byrne and Ryan O’Shaughnessy. The single went to Number One in the iTunes chart, with a live RTE One performance soon after.
Sean kicked off 2017 with a string of shows in Austria, followed by extensive touring across Ireland.
After picking up an endorsement from Vocalzone, the latter half of 2017 was spent shifting focus to writing new material and developing his live show. From playing two sets across two stages at Electric Picnic 2018, supporting Dancing with the Stars winner Jake Carter, to opening for Irish rock legends Aslan on multiple dates of their 2019 tour, the last two years have been hectic for Sean.
Seán is an artist who is most definitely on the rise having honed his craft on the Dublin live scene incorporating his loops, drums and catchy tunes into a truly exuberant live act.
